MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following a 21st place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2021, West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons has announced the 2022 cross country schedule.
 
The Mountaineers opened the season with the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational at Penn State on Sept. 9.
 
West Virginia picks back up when it travels to Louisville, Kentucky for the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1, and the team continues the season the following Saturday, as it heads to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Oct. 8.
 
The squad splits up on Friday, Oct. 14, as WVU competes in the Penn State National Open and the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational. West Virginia completes the regular season with the Go Fast River Run on Saturday, Oct. 22, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
 
The postseason begins with the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Lubbock, Texas, on Friday, Oct. 28, before traveling to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, Nov. 11, hosted by Penn State.
 
The Mountaineers wrap up the season at the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Nov. 19. A week later, members of the team travel to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, to compete at the Canadian National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 26.
